Creative Power…that’s what makes me so happy — Bill Alexander
Bill’s imagination takes him to the place he is creating. This is creative power at work. When Bill lays in that shoreline, he is there on that lake with his fishing pole in the water waiting patiently for that first bite!
Bill spent a lot of time communing with Mother Nature. The images he saw became part of his being. He could paint those images on the canvas with nearly perfect recall.
In Bill’s autobiography, “The Bill Alexander Story”, he tell of taking students out into the woods and mountains around “Aldergrove”. He would allow them to take sketchbooks but he preferred that they only observe. He wanted them to enjoy the experience of living and being in Nature. He believed that those experiences would enrich his students and make their artwork more powerful.
