“I plow that paint away!”

Bill has just put a lot of paint onto the canvas. Now watch how he creates his tree trunks. This method will help create depth in the tree because he can then add paint into the channel he just created and not worry about it becoming muddy. Notice the order in which he works. First the basic dark shape of the tree, then the tree trunk. Now he can color/highlight the trunk and the rest of the tree. A simple technique, but very effective!
