Bill grew up as a peasant in a feudal society. Later, as a young man, he was subject to the totalitarian regime of a group of thugs and madmen! He was told what to do almost from the day he was born until he left his homeland and began a new life in North America. (Think, for a moment, about the courage it took to leave everything behind!)
Right or wrong Bill made up his own mind…and…he urged his fans to do the same thing. It’s not just about a painting is it?

“It’s you who says, what should be on the canvas.” – Thanks, Bill!! It’s really neccessary to say this.

I started oil painting in 1972 and painted on and off as work and family commitments allowed until I retired in 2012. I decided to really concentrate on painting and checked out Youtube to see what other people were painting. I discovered Bill Alexander and the enthusiasm he had for life and painting was highly infectious. I stated studying his methods and watching him on Youtube. From being a stumbling painter I was turning out work I was proud to show and sell. My best month thirty paintings rolled off my brush. If I was to ever have a regret in life, it would be not being able to meet and study with Bill while he was alive.
