We found an interesting video clip of Bill and thought it was worth sharing.
In it, Bill gives us a painting tip and expresses his love for his fans.
He starts off warning us not to put too much Magic White™ on the canvas.
There is one thing we’ve learned over the years editing Bill’s videos above all else. When Bill repeats something over and over, it’s not because he’s losing his mind. It’s not because he’s becoming senile.
It’s because what he has to say is an essential element of his method of oil painting. He wants to make sure you remember it.
It is amazing to me how few folks stress the importance of applying the correct amount of Magic White™. Obviously, they don’t think it’s important enough to mention. Bill did, and he states why it’s important.
The reason Bill warns us not to use too much Magic White™ is that you won’t be successful with his method of oil painting. He says it in many of his videos. “Don’t ground yourself. Too much is not good, too little is not good.”
Too much Magic White™ and your paint will slip and slide all over the canvas. Too little Magic White™ and you lose the ability to mix paint on the canvas.
But it’s the next part of the video clip that is so important.
Bill says, “I need you to paint.” He says that together we can make a beautiful world. We can live in a world with love, not war.
We look at the world around us, and everything seems crazy. As I write this the world is wondering if we’re going to war with North Korea. How crazy is that?
Bill lived through World War II. He dedicated his life to doing everything he could to make sure war would never happen again. Silly? Naive? We don’t think so. Bill made his beliefs guide his life. He believed that love was the only thing that could stop war. That’s why he talks so much about it in all his videos. That’s why he ended his videos with a simple, “I love you.”
Sometimes we look at what’s happening and feel like we’re powerless to do anything. But that’s just not true. We may not be able to stop another war, but we do have control over one thing. That is how we respond to what is going on around us. We can refuse to take part in the craziness. We can dig deep within ourselves and find strength in our beliefs and what gets us out of bed each morning.
Steven Covey, the author of “7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” said these words.
No one on their death bed ever wishes they spent more time at the office.
It’s time we started thinking about what’s really important to us – you and me. From the day we are born, the clock starts ticking. Don’t wait. Do those things you’ve always wanted to do. Become the person you’ve always wanted to be. It’s never too late — not until the lights go out the final time. Make your mark today!
