Today, too many people live too much in the shadows and dark and stay there. The dark is the difficult part of life. — Bill Alexander
Bill lived most of his life close to the shadows. Born into poverty…plunged into two world wars…barely eking out an existence as he developed his art…the tug toward darkness must have been formidable. How easy it would have been to slip into blaming others for his situation. How convenient it might have been to make excuses for his lack of success. How tempting it must have been to compromise his beliefs and take the easy way out.
Yet what did Bill say over and over again? “Without dark there is no light.” Focusing on the light at the end of the long, dark tunnel allowed Bill to become the human being he was. Without a life on the edge of shadows, Bill could never empathized with our struggles. His encouragement to us would have rung hollow.
We can choose light and reject shadow because we have Bill’s model to guide us. Choose light!

Oh so true! There is always a light at the end of the darkness.
