I used to attend a lot of company meetings when I was in the insurance business. At one of those meetings, Zig Ziglar was the keynote speaker. Zig was a popular and famous motivational speaker in his day. The company told us Zig was going to teach us his selling secrets.
The meeting was great, and Zig was one of the nicest, most entertaining speakers I ever heard. He told us about the lessons he learned in life. He shared quotes like “You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.”
“If you can dream it, you can achieve it.”
No…wait…wasn’t that was Napoleon Hill? “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve?”
Oh well, anyway, it was a great three hours. We left all pumped up with zip and vinegar.
The problem was, the next day we couldn’t remember too much of what Zig taught us. Well, except those cool motivational quotes – we remembered them.
It’s like that with painting workshops, isn’t it? You have a great day. You meet some nice folks. But you don’t really learn how to paint, do you?
Is the workshop irrelevant?
It seems so with all the “Paint ’n’ Sip” locations that have popped up everywhere. Heck, you can paint a pretty picture and whoop it up with your friends or make new ones.
And who, in their right mind, would want to go through all the rigamarole of setting up and running a workshop? In fact, we asked an artist this question.
“If you had a choice of painting or holding another workshop, which would you do?
“Paint, of course.”
How do you learn to paint?
You learn from an established curriculum. A curriculum that starts you the right way from the very beginning. From lesson number one you learn the basic principles of oil painting. It doesn’t make any difference if you’ve never painted (actually a good thing) or if you’ve been painting for years.
Alexander Art offers classes to painters of all skill levels. You’ll learn the time-tested principles of creating great art. Learning to paint is not rocket science, by the way! Just because you’re a beginner doesn’t mean you have to take watered-down lessons from an amateur.
Membership at Alexander Art gives you access to beginner through advanced classes. We have classes in color mixing, seascapes, and much more on the way. We’ve got you covered!
If you want to socialize with friends, there’s a wine bar waiting for you.
If you want to learn how to paint the right way, we’re here to help.
