Light on Light Is Nothing!
Today’s Video Tip is short but has a powerful lesson. Light on light is nothing! You will see that as Bill highlights his mountain he pays attention to where the light is. If you lay light next to light, you lose the power. Dark and light, light and dark, that is how you create separation and clarity. Be careful to not lose your lights when highlighting. A common mistake that artists make is to lose the dark and mid-tones when highlighting. Watch for this but don’t worry! If you use the darks, you can always add them back in.
Happy Painting!
