Creating a Shoreline
Buck can paint anything but there is something special that happens when he paints the sea. Watch as he demonstrates how to use light and dark to create an illusion of ocean shoreline.
Key Points:
- Buck’s canvas is dry for this demonstration
- The paint colors he uses are Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Titanium White, and Phthalo Blue, he loosens the paint with Magic Clear Medium.
- Notice Buck controls how much paint is on his brush by wiping it before he goes to the canvas. (This is something Buck does often when he paints.)
- Brushes Buck uses are; The Alexander Badger Flat Brush, Alexander Hake Brush, Alexander Mop Brush, and Alexander LargeFan Brush. He uses a tapered palette knife as well.
- The Badger, Hake, and Mop brushes are all soft bristle brushes.
