Tom teaches our Beyond class.  In that class, he teaches traditional styles of painting and so we work on several paintings at a time so we have drying time between sessions.

Key Points To Consider:

• Tom’s painting is dry.
• He isn’t happy with the shape of his rocks so he is going to restructure them.
• He uses the sharp edge of the palette knife to scrape off the paint he wants to remove.
• If he wanted to he could use sandpaper to make sure the canvas is smooth.  He doesn’t worry about that because the area will be covered with a wave anyway.
• Once he removes the paint he adds color to reshape the rocks.
• He makes an important point.  When you introduce a new color to your canvas it is important to spread the color throughout the painting to create harmony.
