Don’t be afraid of making a mistake.
In this video, Tom was teaching our Beyond Master Class. As he was painting he accidentally picked up green paint in his brush and placed it on the canvas where he didn’t want green paint. He didn’t panic because he knew how to change it.
Points To Consider:
- Tom moves the green paint to other areas on the canvas.
- He wants the colors to be consistent throughout the painting.
- The accidental green spot has a Phthalo Green tint to it so he adds Alizarin Crimson and White to override the green.
- Tom added too much red so he added more Phthalo Green until he had a grey tone.
- He ends up with a violet grey which is a good base color for the violet that will be added later.
If you have watched any of Tom’s free workshops, you know that he mixes his colors from yellow, red, and blue. He uses very little paint which gives him command over his painting. Want to learn how to fix anything? Join us for one of Tom’s classes. Call Dawn at 360-686-1102 to learn more.
