Bill Shows That You Don’t Have To Struggle!
Do you remember the first time you saw Bill highlight his mountains with his almighty palette knife? Do you remember thinking it just can’t be that easy! I sure did!
In today’s video, Bill will show you that it is possible to add the details in the mountain with just a few simple strokes.
Key Points To Consider:
- He always considers the light source and direction first.
- Notice the colors he mixes for the highlights and shadows.
- He doesn’t “over mix” his colors.
- His palette knife is flat against the canvas so he doesn’t scrape off the paint.
- He applies the paint to the top of the mountain in a single stroke or two. Which allows the paint to stay on top of, rather than mixing, with the base color.
- As Bill moves down the mountain he applies more pressure and mixes a little with the base color to soften the base of the mountain.
- Bill recognizes where his true source of light comes from.
Happy Painting!
