Buck Invites Us Into His Studio
I don’t know anyone on the planet that paints seascapes as well as Buck Paulson. A longtime resident of Santa Barbara, he has had plenty of time to study his subject! We all know though, it is one thing to study what we see, it is another to capture it on canvas. His 57 years of hard work have paid off. Today we get a glimpse into his studio as he shares an important concept with us about creating form Patterns. He has a simple acronym that helps him while he paints that he wants to share with us. It is DESH. But what does it stand for?
D- Direction
E – Endings
S – Sizes
H – Height
Once he establishes the Direction, he Varies the Endings, Sizes, and Heights to create interest and realism.
Enjoy!
Happy Painting!
