You Have To Have The Dark To Show Light!
Bill explains how he forms his paintings. He paints from the back to the front. Bill imagines the base layer of the trees being the back of the trees. Today he will add the tree trunks and in a future video, he will add the front of the trees. He also wants us to feel free to make mistakes. He shows us how to fix the tree trunks if they aren’t formed correctly. He talks about the freedom that comes with accepting that we will make mistakes and that no matter what, we can fix them or even cover them with something else. Everyone makes mistakes, even Bill!
Key Points To Consider:
- Bill is painting on a wet canvas.
- The Alexander 1″ Brush is designed specially to work with the Alexander thick paint.
- The background paint is thin. There is very little on the canvas.
- Bill removes paint down to the canvas, as he plows through creating the illusion of tree trunks.
- He adds the highlights by adding paint into the areas where he previously removed it.
It is a joy to be alive!
Happy Painting!
