Bill shows us how to create perspective in his painting by adding a row of trees.
Today Bill will show you how to create a row of “planted” trees. It is a great lesson on perspective. He uses color, size, and placement to show perspective.
Points To Consider:
- Closer trees are larger and appear further apart.
- Bill uses the dark to define the trunks but uses the highlights to form roundness.
- You see Bill painting quickly here because of the time clock that was running. He only had 28:30 min for each project.
- When Bill painted at home, he took his time and was more careful.
- Notice when Bill applies the foliage to the trees the bristles don’t really bend. He is using the brush like a rubber stamp. We’ve seen him do this before.
- He darkened the color for the foliage in the foreground. Colors appear darker when the objects are closer.
Happy Painting!
