Add A Tree Trunk and it Starts to Make Sense!
Today’s Video Clip comes from our Intermediate Master Class with Tom Anderson. Last time he showed us how to put in the green-grey foliage to represent the foliage on the backside of the tree. Now he lays in the tree trunk and it starts to make sense.
Have you noticed that Tom uses the primary colors to mix all of the colors he needs? What a free and empowering way to paint! Never worry about having the wrong color of brown or not having a tube of green paint. Not only that but he makes the colors as he needs them so he is never wasting paint. Sign up for our Master Class, and you will be doing the same. Think of the money you will save on paint while you become a great artist!
Key Points to Consider;
- Tom is painting on a wet canvas.
- He mixes in the same place on the palette. He creates a base color and makes adjustments as he desires.
- Tom keeps his palette clean, which gives him more control.
- The warm color in the tree trunk pushes the green-grey into the background.
The tree will be completed on future Daily Video Tips. You will never look at your trees the same again!
Happy Painting!
