Bill creates depth by adding a darker and larger rock formation.
There are several things to learn from today’s Video Tip.
Key Points To Consider:
- The background layer is thin and wet.
- Bill takes his time and makes his strokes carefully.
- He adds some lighter rock formations off in the distance to create depth.
- The further away something is the more vertical and horizontal they appear.
- Bill darkens the color of the rock formation by adding VanDyke Brown and Blue.
- Size and color determine how close something appears.
- As Bill says “Dynamite comes in small packages!”
- Bill continues to play with light and shadow.
- The paint goes on easily because the background is thin.
Happy Painting!
