Learn to create even more distance in your paintings.
There are several things to learn from today’s Tip. Tom is always teaching so pay close attention to what he is saying while he shows us how to create even more distance.
Points To Consider:
- Earlier Tom sanded his painting to soft the distant mountains.
- He wipes the dust off the canvas. He uses his clean 1″ Brush loaded with a light coat of Magic Clear to cover the distant area.
- He uses a paper towel to wipe most of the oil off of the canvas. Too much oil on the canvas will make it hard to add more paint.
- He adds Magic White® to the 1″ Brush. He pats it onto the canvas covering the distant mountains.
- He then uses an “art wipe” (baby wipe) to wipe out some of the Magic White to bring back the color in the mountain.
- He softens the edges of everything in the distance to push things even farther away. Everything in the distance is usually blurry.
Happy Painting!
