Often when people first learn to paint, objects appear to be very flat. In Today’s Video Tip, Buck will show you his technique for putting shape and dimension into a round orange. Follow Buck’s simple procedure and you will be painting oranges that look good enough to eat!

Key Points To Consider:

• Buck discusses the purpose of an under-painting to establish the form,
• Buck is using an Alexander Flat Badger Brush
• Strokes go in the direction of the orange (following its shape)
• He uses a zig-zag and blend process that is very effective.
• He softens the sides of the oranges to detach them from the background
• He pats the orange paint onto the orange to create a pebbly effect
• Buck softens with the Alexander Mop Brush
