Get Exactness When Creating Color Mixes.
Today’s Video Tip is short but really valuable. We hear Lowell, Buck and others say something like, “One part Titanium White, Two Parts Phthalo Green.” What does that even mean? How do we match the colors exactly or even close to exactly? Today, Lowell teaches us a little trick. Since he uses his Palette Knife to mix his colors, he lays the paint on his palette knife. Notice the sharp edge gives him a clean cut.
There is something we learned the hard way! Years ago, we ordered a container of empty tubes, just like always but, this time the orifice and the cap, was a different size than usual! Normally this wouldn’t be a problem unless you are following instructions that say to use equal parts of something or one-part something and two parts something else. Just imagine Lowell, using this process with inconsistent-sized tubes! Just wouldn’t work! When you buy Alexander paint not only are you getting the best of the best in quality, but you will always have the same sized tubes so you can follow the formulas in our instructional books with no problems.
Happy Painting!
