How Much Better Will Your Artwork Be Now That You Know How To Do This?
Have you ever looked at your finished paintings and wondered how you can make them better? Today’s Video Tip shows you a technique that will truly be your new best friend. Not only will you no longer be lonely, but your paintings will have more depth and vitality.
KEY POINTS TO WATCH FOR:
- Tom is working on a dry canvas.
- He is using a small amount of Alexander “Magic Clear” Medium
- He is very careful NOT to use too much oil.
- When Tom dips his brush in the oil he doesn’t let it hit the bottom of the container. This keeps the oil clean
- He mixes a translucent paint.
- He uses the same blue that was used in the painting.
- He’s is strategic as to where he places color.
- Tom doesn’t follow the photograph entirely as the print colors are not accurate.
- Notice how clean Tom”s palette is.
- He doesn’t mention it here but when you glaze your painting, let it dry flat for a few days so the paint doesn’t run.
Happy Painting!
